During its fifteen years of existence, Märklin introduced a number of startsets or "grundpackung". These are the typical boxes containing an oval or 8-track and including 2 cars and 2 speed-controllers. Especially in the early days, Märklin brought every year a few of those sets into market. The individual Sprint parts were always quite expensive, the start sets were always a bit lower-priced. The boxes are numbered from 1400 to 1412 and some of them were made in different versions.
